That is where McDonalds comes in to the picture. As I sought to find and connect the pieces of an effective quiet time I started looking for a place to go that was open early in the morning. Preferably a place I could go even when I was out of town. McDonalds become that place.

All of us have been in a restaurant, shopping mall, or Wal-Mart and seen a child “out of control” in need of correction and thought, “that would never happen under my watch.” Then as we watched things unfold we may have said something like, “That kid would be toast, why don’t the parents do something!” It’s the equivalence of armchair quarterbacking by grandparents, friends, family and even strangers.
