About Tom

Tom Lane has served in vocational ministry for more than 40 years. First serving at Trinity Fellowship Church in Amarillo, Texas, and then at Gateway Church in Southlake, Texas, he has held many roles, including business administrator, administrative pastor, executive pastor, executive senior pastor, and senior pastor. Tom currently serves as the executive pastor of the Tom Lane Executive Leadership Institute at Gateway Church.

Tom’s engaging, relational style, along with his heart for God and people and his personal experiences in both business and ministry, bring a warm practicality to his leadership, speaking, writing, and ministry. He has authored and co-authored multiple books, including Tested and Approved, Heritage: A Father’s Influence to the Generations, Foundations of Healthy Church Government, He Still Speaks, He Still Speaks to Kids, Strong Women and the Men Who Love Them, and Letters from a Dad to a Graduate. He has also written articles for Ministry Today.

Tom and his wife, Jan, have been married for more than 50 years. They are blessed with four married children and 15 grandchildren.
